My mission is to deliver medical care to the Power Sportsman.

I have been a Power Sportsman for over 30 years and I am the sole founder of a new subspecialty of Internal Medicine- “Hard-Core Medicine” AKA, Internal Medicine for Power Sportsmen. This medical care model is based on the fundamentals of cutting edge academic Internal Medicine.

After practicing General Internal Medicine for years and caring for more and more of these special patients, I realized that the standard Physician -even the “best” Physician’s of the arrogant North East USA -haven’t a clue to the physiologic nature nor the psychological under-culture in which these men thrive. Not to mention the arcane pharmacology, at times, hosted by this very special group of men.

How many physicians in this country -or the world, are familiar with the sub-set; Body Dismorphic pathopsycology of Reverse Anorexia AKA, the Adonis complex? This disease actually exists in current medical textbooks!

The Anabolic Doc is well studied in this interesting condition. In addition to the fact that there are tens of thousands of these special men “in need” in the USA and maybe there are a handful of physicians really capable of caring for these men.

A new group of “underserved” patients has been discovered!
Therefore, I have decided to dedicate my medical career to the care of the Power Sportsman.

There is no other animal quite like the Power Sportsman. He lives under great stress! With no clear etiology. He may not have superior genes, yet despite this, he trains as if his life depends on it- and it shows!

He trains virtually year round. Maybe training for a local Power lifting meet, a national or world competition, a Strong man contest, to close a Captain’s of Crush #3 gripper or to improve on a new PR in his dirty basement gym.

It’s all the same insane intensity!

It is impossible to understand this behavior, unless one is intimately involved in the under culture himself. The result is that to the outsider, the Power Sportsman is a rarity, an anomaly, a freak. And the Power Sportsman becomes further ostracized from mainstream society. This paradoxical feed-back to the Power Sportsman, in some interesting psychosocial manner makes him feel whole! Makes him train harder!

Relentless training regimens like this require “Hard-Core” Medicine.

The Power Sportsman needs the services of the Anabolicdoc. To care for his beaten body so he may continue his quest for wholeness, as healthy and as long as possible.

I am a Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician who specializes in “Hard-Core medicine”, the medical care of men involved in the Power Sports-- “ The Power Sportsman”, e.g., Power lifters, Strongmen and Bodybuilders.

These men are very unique. The lifestyle these men live is very different than that of ordinary men, therefore necessitating a very different, yet competent Physician who not only can understand these special men, but a physician who lives the hard-core under-culture himself.

Like any other good Power Sportsman, I lift; and I lift as heavy as possible.

I have been lifting since I was 14 years old.

In the past, I have competed in Body Building, but my love for the Iron Game lies in Power Lifting.

I hold the current APA Connecticut Bench Press Record at 198 & 220lb. Class Masters 1 & 2.

I am currently bench pressing over 500lbs consistently and hope to continue this through my 80's! I have dead lifted 565 and dream of 600 soon.

Directly out of Residency training, my partner and i opened the first Concierge Medical practice in central Connecticut- Personal Care Physicians, LLC.

Probably like you, I love my family (wife, daughter, & son), work hard, train hard, eat, sleep and repeat. These are my hobbies.
